ASUS keeps its promise by rolling Android Wear 2.0 update to the ZenWatch 2

Even after the ASUS ZenWatch 3 received the Android Wear 2.0 update, we had doubts regarding its predecessor. As it is, the new firmware arrived late for the latest ASUS wearable. But now we hear, it’s heading for the ASUS ZenWatch 2 as well.
Asus-ZenWatch-2-official
Now, these two devices were the only ones promised Android Wear 2.0. So you could say, ASUS has fulfilled that promise, albeit after stutters. However, the original ASUS ZenWatch will not get the version 2.0 goodies, sadly. And if you want some proofs, Google has updated its list of Android Wear 2.0 watches, and it features the ZenWatch 2.

Still on the pending list is the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE and the Moto 360. Android Wear 2.0 brings features like stand-alone apps, simpler navigation, more watch face customizations and improved messaging. It doesn’t stop there. There are many more.

Leaked Galaxy C10 images once again show a dual camera setup

The Samsung Galaxy C10 has been rumored before to come with a dual camera as is the Galaxy J7 (2017) Chinese version. Just yesterday, we saw a leak of the J7 with two imaging sensors. This time we have an image of the back of the C-series phone sporting two cameras.
galaxy c10 leaked images
While the Galaxy Note 8 will most likely have the same setup, these 2 are the other contenders. The big question is which of these three will first come to the market with it?

In all truthfulness, we don’t know when the Chinese GalaxyJ7 (2017 ) will arrive. These images are of the Galaxy C10. Those easily visible antenna lines show the mark of the C series. There isn’t much to chew in this image except what we already mentioned. All else is guess work.
With all these different series of devices popping up, it is only a matter of time before Samsung’s all smartphones come with the sensor.

TA-1004 is Nokia 8, not Nokia 9 New leak says, reveals specs and prices

Now that the curtains have been raised from the trio of Nokia budget devices, we can direct our attention to flagships. The Nokia 9 has been spotted with many model numbers on benchmarks, as well as it has appeared on the FCC. And no doubt it is a flagship.

There is one more device, the Nokia 8 which might also be a flagship. But it has a very subdued presence on the rumor mill. But now we are seeing some movement from this phone. A well-known tipster, Roland Quandt, spilled the beans with regards to the Nokia 8, this morning. He believes the Nokia 8 is none other than the TA-1004 that was thought to be the Nokia 9. This particular model has passed the FCC certification. It also appeared on AnTuTu with 4 GB of RAM and the Snapdragon 835.
According to Roland Quandt, the device will pack in the same hardware that appeared on AnTuTu and was believed to be the Nokia 9. The serial tipster here also knows what colors the phone will have. And Nokia is giving some generous options: blue, steel (silver), gold/blue, and gold/copper colors. The phone is expected to have a 2K display and dual cameras but this can equally be said for the Nokia 9. Both single SIM and dual SIM models are expected.
The extensive leak also expects the phone to launch at the end of this very month. And as for the price, the Nokia 8 will not burn a hole in the pocket with €598 (~$686/¥4652), compared to say the Galaxy S8.
Amidst this mix up of model numbers, we can only wait to see what shape the TA-1004 takes. And we hope it is on July 31.

leaked images of Galaxy S8+ show the front of the Galaxy Note8 resembling the Galaxy S8+

Lately, we have been swamped by the number of Galaxy Note8 rumors coming to the fore. And the cycle isn’t anywhere close to ending. Just yesterday, Exynos put the Galaxy Note8 on show while teasing the Exynos 9 chip. So here we have one more.

This one has three phones lined up side by side. And they only show the front. Surprisingly, there isn’t much of a change in terms of design. If we compare it to yesterdays official ‘leak’, that one had much slimmer top and bottom chins. Comparatively, this is much similar to the Galaxy S8+. Obviously, this is the Note lineup and it will have a more rectangular body. Onleaks believes this to be a fan render. As official press renders would not show a low-battery. While a famous Chinese tipster believes this is the actual design of the phablet.

The Galaxy Note8 will have a 6.2 to a 6.4-inch screen, Snapdragon 835, or Samsung Exynos 8895, at least 6 GB of RAM and dual cameras at the back. The fingerprint sensor will be more likely at the back instead of underneath the screen.

Reliance Jio DTH set-top box leaked online, DTH services coming soon?

Reliance Jio is preparing to enter in to the DTH (Direct to Home) service space, given new leaked images of its set-top box have started to surface online. The new pictures are quite different from the ones leaked earlier, which had revealed a round set-top box. Leaked in February, the images had a Jio-branded remote along with set-top box which had a circular top. The device, which deviates from the standard rectangular design for set-top boxes, looks customised for Jio customers.
However, new leaked images suggest Jio might stick with a rectangular design for its set-top box after all. The pictures show a blue box with Reliance Jio branding on top as well as new set-top box. The device has a number of ports including a standard cable connector, HDMI, USB, as well as audio and video output. There’s also an Ethernet port, which will allow users to connect to a modem to offer broadband

JioTV is said to offer more than 360 channels, at least 50 of which will be in HD. There will be a seven-day ‘catch up’ option to . This content is not saved locally, but on Jio servers and pulled in as per demand. Users will be able to use a voice enabled remote to search by channel, show, category or even by the names of actors.

Just like its data services, Reliance Jio is expected to offer its DTH services at much lower prices than its rivals. The leaks hint at the fact the services might launch pretty soon in the coming months, starting with Mumbai. To recall, the company had said that its Jio fibre service will offer high-speed Internet at up to 1 Gbps speeds. With Jio fibre, users will be able to stream and play high-definition games with multiple players and buffer 4K videos easily.

Leak Jio 4G VoLTE feature phone shows physical design and specs.

Reliance Jio is set to make another splash in the telecom with the debut of its own 4G VoLTE feature phone. This time rivalries will be in place at the grass root level of the consumer market. The company is in advanced stages of development of its Lyf branded feature phone as rumors say.
Today we have some images that give us a good look at the device. Along with it, specs of the alleged device are also exposed. Looking at the front side of the phone it is to be sold under the Lyf brand which is in line with previous rumors. Jio doesn’t want to do anything out of the blue with the design here. Instead, it sticks to tradition. The front has a 2.4-inch screen and a keypad and some dedicated function keys like a flashlight. At the back is a speaker grill and a camera cut out. obviously, the phone is made up of plastic. The camera is a 2 MP sensor.

lyf-jio-volte-4g-feature-phone-7
We did have some idea about the specs of the phone but here are some more details. The candy bar phone will have 512 MB of RAM with 4 GB of dedicated storage. It will also come with a micro SD card slot compatible with up to 128 GB of ROM. As regards the processor, there is no specific info but we can guess it to be a Spreadtrum processor. Of course, this is not confirmed.
lyf-jio-volte-4g-feature-phone-8
The phone has some new tricks up its sleeve as it will be running apps like Jio TV and Jio Cinema. Credits to Reliance Jio for trying this out. But good luck watching something on that huge 4k screen. It’s also said to come with video calling GPS, Bluetooth 4.1 and even Wi-Fi. All this is quite unnatural for a feature phone. But wait till you hear this one. It will also have a voice assistant with support for Indian languages. I, for once am dying to try this one out. For now we will have to make do with this video below.

The new device will support dual SIMs and run on KAI OS based on FireFox OS. This particular OS does have a dedicated store and WhatsApp and Facebook apps can be installed on the phone via the store.
As for the price, previous reports have said it will be around the Rs. 500 mark. Expect it to come with some promotional offers included with the device.

iPhone 8 May Sport 'Rear-Facing 3D Laser' for Augmented Reality Features: Report

iPhone 8 May Sport 'Rear-Facing 3D Laser' for Augmented Reality Features: Report

HIGHLIGHTS

  • iPhone 8 shipments are expected to face delay of 3-4 weeks
  • The 3D laser system will enable improved autofocus for camera
  • Apple said to be facing issues with fingerprint sensor implementation
Apple's announcement of ARKit at this year's WWDC was clear indication that the company is heavily interested in augmented reality. Now, new information suggests that the Cupertino-based company has been working on a "rear-facing 3D laser system" that can possibly be implemented at the back of the upcoming iPhone 8 in order to facilitate AR features as well as improve the camera performance. Separately, the smartphone has also been tipped to face a delay in shipments.
Citing a source with knowledge on the matter, Fast Company reports that Apple is working on a sensor system for its upcoming smartphones that will enable better detection of depth for the augmented reality apps with the help of laser and provide better autofocus in terms of photography. As per the source, the inclusion of this sensor system (VSCEL laser system) on iPhone 8 will depend on progress that the engineers at the company are able to make in terms of technology integration on the smartphone.
"VCSEL laser systems calculate the distance the light travels from the laser to the target and back to the sensor, and generate a Time of Flight (TOF) measurement. The system consists of a source (the VCSEL laser), a lens, detector (sensor), and a processor. The whole thing costs about $2 per phone," Fast Company said citing a source in its report.
To recall, JP Morgan analyst Rod Hall earlier suggested that the iPhone 8 might come with front 3D laser tech for facial recognition, something that has since been corroborated several times.
Separately, Bank of America Merrill Lynch analysts have suggested that the iPhone 8 will face a delay of 3-4 weeks in shipments due to technological issues on the basis of their conversation with the supply chain sources, reports CNBC. The report mentions problems with fingerprint sensor and 3D sensors to be the reason behind this delay. Notably, this is not the first time that the upcoming smartphones shipments have been tipped to be delayed.
